Journalism profession was founded in 1949, as part of the Faculty of Philology, and in 1999 YSU Faculty of Journalism was established. The faculty has 2 chairs-Printed and Broadcast Media, Communication and New Media. G. Ananyan multimedia laboratory and board of ethics also works in faculty. Faculty offers around 5 educational programs for bachelors and masters. The faculty has 400 students and 60 lecturers. For more information, please, visit

YSU Faculty of Journalism collaborates with leading media representatives, as well as with a number of different agencies and international organizations. There are agreements on trainings, field studies, as well as cooperation with primary and high schools.
Internship for students is organized at different organizations ("Republic of Armenia" daily, "Aravot" daily, "Azg" daily, Public TV, Channel 2, "Kentron" TV, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Diaspora, the UN Public Information Department, OSCE Yerevan Office, the Information Office of the Council of Europe, Delegation of the European Commission, the ICRC delegation in Armenia.
Based on the features of the faculty partner organizations can be divided into several groups - educational institutions, media, international organizations, ministries, embassies, etc.
