Artsakh archeological expedition
Armenia's National Academy of Sciences Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography Artsakh expedition in 2005. Discovered by the Armenian King Tigran II the Great (95-55 BC) established the Tigranakert in Artsakh by the city and 2006-2008. Archaeological excavations in the area. It is the only settlement named after T., whose exact coordinates, and is being explored. Excavated in 2010 based on rich archaeological material.

Archaeological Museum was established in the city. Today most visited Tigranakert (30-40 thousand visitors a year), detailing the internet, the two most well-versed in Artsakh archaeological monument.

It cooperates with the Faculty of History.
