RA Central Electoral Commission's Staff
The Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia is a state body in charge of organizing elections, as well as referendums (“The RA Law on referendums”) ensuring their legality.
Before the independence of the Republic of Armenia, the work of the Central Electoral Commission was regulated by “The Law on the elections of the national deputies of the Soviet Armenia Socialist Republic”.

From 1990 the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia had passed a number of laws referring to the elections too and made amendments to the existing laws.
In accordance with “The RA Law on the elections of the deputies of local councils of the RA” the Territorial Electoral Commissions were in charge of the electoral processes.

In accordance with “The RA Law on the elections of the deputies of the Supreme Council of the RA”, it was the Central Commission of the elections of the Supreme Council Deputies that was in charge of the electoral processes.
In accordance with “The RA Law on Referendum” passed in April, 1991 it was the Central Commission of Referendum that was in charge of organizing and conducting referendums in the Republic.

The Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Armenia co-operates with the CECs of the CIS member countries.
From 1999 the Central Electoral Commission of the RA has been a member of the Association of European Election Officials (ACEEEO).

The Central Electoral Commission cooperates with YSU Faculty of Law.
