Education
1997: Graduated from Kh. Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical Institute - division of history of the Historical - Geographical faculty.
2000: Postgraduate student of the Chair of the History of Armenia of the Armenian State Pedagogical Institute.
2006: finished studies at the Moscow School of Political Researches under the auspices of the Council of Europe.

Academic degree
Candidate of pedagogical sciences.
Dissertation on “Garegin Nzhdeh’s Pedagogical Views.”

Professional Experience
1999 - 2002: Worked in the educational complex # 159 as a teacher.
2002 - 2005: Chairman of the Students’ Board of the Armenian State Pedagogical Institute, Rector’s assistant, lecturer in the chair of Armenian History in Armenian State Pedagogical University, and Deputy Chairman of the Youth Organization of the Republican Party of Armenia.
May 2005: Nominated candidate for Mayor of Alaverdi.
2005 - 2007: Aide to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
2007 - 2012: Deputy of the National Assembly (proportional electoral system, RPA.)
2007 - 2008: Member of the Standing Committee on European Integration of the National Assembly.
2008 - 2012: Member of the Standing Committee on Social Affairs of the National Assembly. Speaker of the RPA Press.
2011 - 2012: Vice President of the National Assembly.
May 31, 2012: Elected Vice - President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

Awards received
2003: Honoured with the Prime Minister’s letter of thanks and prize for his enthusiastic participation in political activity in the RA Youth political field.
2005: Honoured with the “Armenian” prize as the best head of the students’ self - government body.
2006: Awarded with the "Garegin Nzhdeh'' Medal of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
2008: Awarded with the "Andranik Ozanyan" Medal.
2009: Awarded with the "Fridtjof Nansen" commemorative Gold Medal.
2011: Awarded with the CIS Inter - Parliamentary Assembly Diploma and commemorative Medal.
