THE OLYMPIC TEAM OF THE MATHEMATICAL FACULTY RETURNED NOT EMPTY-HANDED THIS TIME
On September 20 the dean of the Mathematical faculty Gegham Gevorgyan met the students.

The dean presented the work done during the previous educational year and answered all the questions during the per-year meeting. But the main reason for the meeting was the Olympic team awarding of the faculty.

This year the Olympic team of the faculty took part in two Olympic Games. Olympic Games organized in the Republic of Islamic Iran, our Olympic team returned with group bronze and individual gold and bronze medals. And everybody returned with individual gifts from the European University Olympic Games organized in Ukraine.

Michael Poghossyan, Arthur Barkhudaryan, Smbat Gogyan and Levon Galstyan. The work of each of the teams leader is unvalueable in this work, said G. Gevorgyan. The dean of the faculty considered more important the fund of Mathematics and YSU leaders assistance.

The Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Affairs of YSU Arsen Karamyan was also present in the meeting. The vice-rector gave the gifts prepared by the graduates union and taking the opportunity shortly presented the further tasks with the students.

Arsen Karamyan informed that two months later the aspect of Students Law and responsibilities will work, and he admonished everyone to take part in the discussions of documents and help with suggestions to make it a viable document.

STATEMENT OF YEREVAN STATE UNIVERSITY  ADDRESSED TO INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS REGARDING THE SITUATION CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE BLOCKADE IMPOSED ON THE LACHIN CORRIDOR
Since the morning of December 12th, a group of Azerbaijani civilians disguised as environmentalists have imposed a blockade on the Goris-Stepanakert highway (the Lachin Corridor) which is currently the only route linking Nagorno-Karabakh to the outside world. On top of that, during bitterly cold winter Azerbaijan had shut off natural gas supplies leaving the civilians in the territory without heating for 75 hours.

YSU rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, along with Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of RA Karen Trchunyan, hosted the delegation headed by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission. For his activity and significant contribution to increasing inter-university bonds, the rector handed a certificate of gratitude to Myasnikovich.
