On May 29, 2018, members of the civil organization “YSU Restart”, exceeding their right to hold peaceful rallies, entered YSU administrative complex and, manifesting disrespect and disdain towards the personnel of YSU, presented their unreasonable and unlawful demands, violating the YSU work process. They entered the administrative buildings of the university, using violence against the rector of YSU, as a result of which he is now in the intensive care unit. His health condition is assessed as serious.
“YSU Restart” false statements, which have arisen from the misunderstanding of the Procurement Plan, where the form and quantity of purchase are indicated in one line, if it is for the year, and the explanation is shown in invoices, which are presented each.
The extended session of YSU Administration was held today. The agenda included one question – to discuss the statement made by “YSU Restart” initiative that demanded the resignation of the Rector Aram Simonyan, the dissolution of the Board of Trustees, financial auditing, as well as the suspension of the activities of the Student Council and Trade Union.
The lecturer of the Faculty of Physics of YSU, Meruzhan Harutyunyan, presented today an 18-page booklet on the “Provisions to Shape Moral System” for a public discussion at YSU.
Doctor of Philology, Professor Artsrun Avagyan has been re-elected Dean of the Faculty of Armenian Philology via a closed, secret ballot at the session of the Academic Council of YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology today, with 32 votes in favor and 3 invalid votes.

Today, YSU Faculty of International Relations hosted a lecture on “Contemporary conflicts: Georgian-Ossetian and Georgian-Abkhazian Conflicts” delivered by Lena Zakaryan, a graduate of the "Regional Policy" Master Program at the Faculty of International Relations.
Vahram Dumanyan, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, was re-elected as Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics with 21 votes at the session of Academic Council of YSU Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics. Let us note that the election was held on May 11 and was attended by YSU Rector Aram Simonyan.
