DIFFERENT, BUT EQUAL
Accessible environment is actually suitable for everyone.
On April 30, the Faculty of Journalism hosted a seminar How to Solve the Problem of Disability. It was organized with the support of the student council of the faculty in the framework of the Alternative Resources of Media.

The seminar was conducted by the Chief Editor of the childrens journal Sunflower, alumni of this faculty Zaruhi Batoyan. She focused on the main features of the coverage of the disability issues.

The meeting was very important for journalists, as very often we meet rude mistakes by media regarding this issue, which is the result of the unawareness, - said Student Council Chairman of the faculty Harutyun Tsatryan.

According to Zaruhi Batoyan, the meeting was very effective because the students were interested in the issue discussed: I would like student to be provided with more opportunities for the comprehensive study of this issue.

Widely accepted principles and coverage omissions in the publications were presented during the seminar. For example, instead of using he is disabled, disabled or imperfect, has a congenital defect and other expressions more new versions were offered.

When you write about disabled people you should focus on the issue in terms of human rights, - added Zaruhi Batoyan.
