MUFTI OF THE SYRIAN ARAB REPUBLIC VISITED YSU
When the history lets us see and evaluate the facts, the feeling of gratefulness towards bosom country and people, which is in the heart of each Armenian, grows and becomes deeper today.

Mufti Sheikh of Syria Ahmad Nadr Al Din Hasunin greeted YSU rector Professor Aram Simonyan.
On September 5 the regional leader who came to the meeting with the students and lecturers of the faculty of Theology was happy that the main part of Armenian population is young. I look at you and remember that I was at the same age and sat in front of the same desks. Believe that it is the most interesting and happiest circle of ones life. Our guest apologized to the students that he is younger than the students expected. He added that the president of the Syrian Arab Republic is the youngest president in the world.

Being in Armenia for the time, Hassun knew well our country. Armenia is a country which doesnt have wealth but it is powerful and rich with its people, he said.
3-4 million Armenians living in East prove that they are people who build. And now Armenians who live in Syria build their future. 

According to our guest the relationship between Armenian and Arabic people friendship is an example for whole the world to show that between different countries that have different religions may have age-long peace. If a person from a nation says that he kills for his religion, never believe that liar. I have read nearly every religion studies, violence and assassination dont preach somewhere, said Mufti. According to him, God is love and if he created a being, so he has the right to exist. War, preach of violence are the religional workers elements. Jihad is love, life, right, care but never the assassination. 

In general, Syrian Mufti is known to the whole world with its peaceful and frankly speeches. He also talks about his viewpoints about genocide and Kharabakhian Antagonism. Particularly, during the talk with consul Sheikh Hassun said, It is not you that did the genocide, its your ancestors. Tell me if there is such thing, apologize for this, if there is a need give 500 million dollar as compensation. Everyone will win.

Sheikh Ahmad Hassun was born in Aleppo in 1949. He has been a preacher and pastor in a number of mosques. He was elected a member of Syrian parliament twice. Till 2005 he was Mufti of Aleppo state, after was appointed Mufti of Syria according to the decree of the president. He has founded beneficiary unions, schools, workshops, hospitals and nursing homes for the old-aged people. The greatest prayer is to support the poor, to cure the sick, - says Sheikh Hassun. - And we pray, because this is the way to show and express our love towards God.
