The Armenian Virtual University summarized its first academic year on June 2

Armenian General Benevolent Union Armenian Virtual initiated the foundation of the University (AVU) still in 2004. Officially, however, the first representative of the online education in Armenia offered its services in June 2009. Projects technology has been thoroughly developed and is being developed by YSU scientists and programmers.

The institution, offering completely different way of learning, summed up the activities of its first academic year in the area of the Armenian Studies distance learning on June 2 via global bridge forum. The jubilee forum was attended by specialists from Armenia, as well as foreign guests, representing the sphere. The Live forum helped to establish contacts between the scholars of the HEI and tutors, as well as specialists of distance learning worldwide, who shared their experience and gave answers to the different questions.

Despite the short timeframe, one year, the University has held four semesters. More than 500 students from 35 countries have participated in the process. The students, representing dozens of states, are united by Armenia and Armenian language. Armenian Virtual University is comprised of three faculties: Language, History and Culture. To justify the means and widen the reach of the Armenian education worldwide the program has been made available in six languages, including Armenian (Eastern and Western), English, Russian, French and Spanish.

In addition to online classes, during which the instructor establishes virtual connection with the trainees, the Armenian Virtual University also offers mixed method of the instruction: the online teacher joins the traditional class and delivers the lecture together with the real master.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH PROJECT IN COOPERATION BETWEEN RESEARCHERS OF YSU AND UNIVERSITY OF GENEVA
The research project was launched in October, 2020 and funded by Science Committee of the Republic of Armenia. The project is implemented by Yerevan State University in cooperation with Dr. Mara Tignino who is a reader and a lead legal specialist at the Faculty of Law and Institute for Environmental Sciences of the University of Geneva.
DIRECTOR OF YSU FACULTY OF LAW SCIENTIFIC-EDUCATIONAL CENTER ON ENVIRONMENTAL LAW HOSTED A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UN ECONOMIC COMMISSION FOR EUROPE
Olimpia Geghamyan, Director of the Scientific-Educational Center for Environmental Law at YSU Faculty of Law, hosted Marianna Bolshakova, a representative of the UN European Economic Commission's international team of experts, and discussed with her the problems of ecological education and upbringing in Armenia.
