The event was initiated by YSU Faculty of History SSS and was headed Old and new Yerevan. The celebration was assisted by the Mayors Office of Yerevan in the face of the Museum of History of Yerevan.
Dean of the Faculty of History Edik Minasyan, congratulated those present on this occasion and expressed the hope that in a few years we will see the Armenia of our dreams: beautiful, clean and luxurious.
The event was also attended by the representatives of the Yerevan Mayors Office. Mayor of Yerevan came personally to YSU to greet the Initiative.
Gagik Beglaryan greeted our studentship, noting that such an initiative once again confirms the fact that everything starts with the students.
I would like all of You to realize that regardless of who owns a particular piece of land, city does not belong to anyone. Yerevan is our shared city. Each of us should be able to say with confidence: Yerevan is my home and should love and cherish the city as he loves his own house, - said Gagik Beglaryan.
The Mayor called on those present to take part in a great holiday and assured this years celebration will bring happiness for all citizens.
During the event, the faculty tutors in Yerevan presented in their reports Yerevan in different periods: from the very foundation up to the present day. The reports were accompanied by photos on the topic.
In the second part of the event there was a concert. YSU Cultural Center Choir scholars performed songs about Yerevan.
Among the guests of the event was the hero of Artsakh, Major-General Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan.
Yerevan is as a father for us, as a parent exhausted, heroic and giving strength. I cannot find words to describe my love for Yerevan. However, in reality, I think it is time to prove our love and devotion to Yerevan not by warm words but on practice, - noticed Commandos.
As part of the festivities History Museum of Yerevan gave YSU exhibits, representing the 12th capital of Armenia. Temporary exhibition will run in the following days after the event.
