RUSSIAN CENTRE IS ONE YEARS OLD
On the 15th of April, in the Big Hall of Yerevan State University the Russian Center, which functions under the auspices of the fund "Russian world", celebrated the first anniversary of the foundation.

Russian center was opened in February of 2008 by a treaty signed between YSU and the Foundation Russian world. Officially center operates from the 1st of April 2008. The Center�s goal is the propagation and development of Russian language and Russian culture in Armenia. 

The achievements of the center, which is already one year old, satisfied the executive director of the fund Russian world Vyacheslav Nikonov and director of the Center Arusyak Nersisyan. Center is available not only for students, and the Director is pleased to note that among the visitors there are a lot of pupils.

In the period of this year YSU Russian Center was visited by more than 700 pupils not only of Yerevan, but also regional schools, - said Arusyak Nersisyan.

The Fund did not come empty-handed. Vyacheslav Nikonov, on the occasion of the anniversary, presented perhaps the most long-awaited prize: a further 1000 titles of books. Director of the Fund said that the Russian Center will soon grant scholarships, which will provide the Armenian students with the opportunity to continue their education in Russian Federation.

Over the past year, fund Russian world opened 20 more centers in the world, but the Center in Armenia is the first and most popular, - said Vyacheslav Nikonov.

The event was organized jointly by the Russian Center, YSU Cultural Center and YSU Faculty of Russian philology. Among the honored guests we could see the Deputy Director of the Center for International Education of Moscow State University after M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, V.A. Stepanenko, Honored Artist of Russia, film director N. Bondarchuk, the diplomatic corps representatives of Russia and Belarus in Armenia and other officials.

In the end of event the results of the Olympiad of Russian language, started in November 2008, were summed up. In the result of the third and final rounds there were decided, one first, two second and three third places. Another 15 students received challenge prizes.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH PROJECT IN COOPERATION BETWEEN RESEARCHERS OF YSU AND UNIVERSITY OF GENEVA
The research project was launched in October, 2020 and funded by Science Committee of the Republic of Armenia. The project is implemented by Yerevan State University in cooperation with Dr. Mara Tignino who is a reader and a lead legal specialist at the Faculty of Law and Institute for Environmental Sciences of the University of Geneva.
DIRECTOR OF YSU FACULTY OF LAW SCIENTIFIC-EDUCATIONAL CENTER ON ENVIRONMENTAL LAW HOSTED A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UN ECONOMIC COMMISSION FOR EUROPE
Olimpia Geghamyan, Director of the Scientific-Educational Center for Environmental Law at YSU Faculty of Law, hosted Marianna Bolshakova, a representative of the UN European Economic Commission's international team of experts, and discussed with her the problems of ecological education and upbringing in Armenia.
