The initiator of the meeting was the author of the project “Lydian Armenia”, representatives of which presented representatives of the international and Armenian independent expert groups and students the program, working stages, results and their impact on the environment and the region’s population.
Head of the ELRC of YSU Faculty of Law Aida Iskoyan welcomed the guests, presented the works of the center, implemented programs and achievements.
“Armenia does not have a law on ecological information yet, so our center is to prepare a draft, as well as to promote public awareness and participate in programs,” - said Aida Iskoyan.
Member of the Independent Advisory Group established for the implementation of “Amulsar”, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Hayk Akarmazyan thanked the center’s management for organizing the discussion.
“Such a discussion with students and faculty members is organized for the first time. It is pleasant and welcoming when YSU, which is a leading HEI in our country, pays great attention to public discussions and environmental issues,” - said Hayk Akarmazyan and encouraged the participants, particularly students, to be active and address issues of concern to members of the company and consulting group.
Member of “Lydian Armenia” Board of Directors, Director on Sustainable Development Armen Stepanyan presented the program through the panoramic view, and John Harcker, a consultant group leader, who has been a leading international mining and multi-sectoral process expert, touched upon the work of the group.
“The group consists of people with independent viewpoints who have full ability to study complex situations and offer clear guidance,” - said John Harcker.
