YSU AND NORWEGIAN TROMSO UNIVERSITY SIGNED AN AGREEMENT
Today YSU Rector Aram Simonyan received the delegation from the Norwegian Arctic University (Tromso).

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Armenia Leidulv Atle Namtvedt, YSU Vice-rector on Scientific Policy and International Cooperation Gegham Gevorgyan, Head of YSU International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov, Dean of YSU Faculty of Biology Emil Gevorgyan and Scientific Supervisor of YSU Information Technology Educational and Research Center Samvel Shukuryan.

 

Aram Simonyan welcomed the guests and presented some information about the creation of YSU, current educational-research status, as well as development visions.

 

"YSU is open for cooperation with all the universities. Unfortunately, ties with Norwegian universities and scientific centers are not so active, but we are ready to study and develop all the possible spheres of cooperation," - said the Rector.

 

Alexander Markarov presented the general picture of YSU international cooperation, current programs and development trends. Emil Gevorgyan and Samvel Shukuryan briefly spoke about their subdivisions and added that there are all the preconditions for cooperation and they are ready to work with their Norwegian colleagues.

 

At the end of the meeting, Aram Simonyan and Vice-rector of the Norwegian Arctic University Wenche Jakobsen signed an agreement and handed each other souvenirs.

 

 

Later, Ambassador Leidulv Atle Namtvedt delivered a lecture for YSU students, touching upon the Norwegian political system, a number of issues related to economic development, as well as answering students' questions.
