THE SOUNDS OF THE ARMENIAN SONGS AT YSU
THE SOUNDS OF THE ARMENIAN SONGS AT YSU
Today, YSU students enjoyed the performance by “Art Vocal Ensemble”-Armenia.

“Art Vocal Ensemble”-Armenia band was formed in 2010 on the basis of the choir of the Church of St. Mesrop Mashtots in Oshakan at the proposal of Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan of the Aragatsotn Diocese and at the initiative of the ensemble’s artistic director and conductor Arno Barkhudaryan. The group is composed of 12 professional singers. The repertoire includes folk, spiritual, classical, and jazz compositions.

“This group has a really patriotic mission. Today, in addition to many songs, you will hear less known works by Mesrop Mashtots and Gregory the Illuminator,” - said the Director of YSU Cultural Centre Karine Davtyan.

“It is an honor for me to perform at YSU and present the pearls of our nation, which are not largely popular,” - said Arno Barkhudaryan.

Duduk player Emmanuel Hovhannisyan also performed with the ensemble. This concert is the band’s third collaboration with this duduk player.

The concert was devoted to the spring holidays.
