The Republican Student Olympiad was organized by the SSS of the Faculty of Geography and Geology, Faculty of International Relations, Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology and the Union of Young Historians on April 13.
About fifty students from YSU, Yerevan State Pedagogical University, Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University and Shirak State University participated in this competition.
The topics were on geography, foreign literature, history and diplomacy.
“Our main goal was to give students an opportunity to test their level of knowledge. Students receive academic education, and higher education is not limited to the professional knowledge only,” - says the Chairman of the SSS of the Faculty of Geography and Geology, the competition organizer Ani Hakobyan.
Today, the results of the Olympiad were summarized and the winners received the awards.
The awards went to the representatives of the Faculty of Geography and Geology, Faculty of Journalism, as well as Shirak State University.
“It is a very important initiative, and I am grateful to our senior friends. Of course, the tasks were complicated, but I am happy to be recognized as the best,” - said one of the winners Venera Atlukyan.
The winners received certificates, collections of scientific articles of YSU SSS, literature and other gifts. All participants were given certificates of participation.
“Of course, we were expecting better results, however, it should be noted that the tasks were quite difficult,” - says Ani Hakobyan.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geology Marat Grigoryan, YSU SSS Chairman Mher Hakobyan, as well as lecturers from various faculties.
