Author of this project is the choreographer Rudolf Kharatyan. It is included in the list of the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide and will show all created by the Armenians for millennia.
Exceptional rhythm of lines of Gregory of Narek, color plastic of miniatures of Toros Roslin and abstract thinking of Arshile Gorky will be presented in the language of art, music and the sharakans of Mesrop Mashtots, the music of Aram Khachatryan, Alan Hovhannes, Arno Babajanyan, Avet Terteryan, Ashot Areyan will give this all another spirit.
Director of the project and the group of artists were hosted today at YSU at the initiative of YSU Cultural Centre.
“We decided to prepare such performance, which unites people of different millennia. Their spirit helped to overcome the obstacles of the time and move to space, where there is no such concept as “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” is,” - said the director.
All artists were invited from abroad. Dancers from Japan, France, USA, Greece and Israel will spend 8 months in Armenia.
“Any event dedicated to the genocide, needs popularization. So we decided to invite foreign artists. For two months, they work here, we try to give them the most information about our values,” - said the director of the foundation “Ballet 2021” Lilit Petrosyan (this foundation conducts the project).
4 premieres are expected: on 27 and 31 May, 9 and 10 June. Leading soloists from Washington and Stuttgart are invited for the main roles in these days.
Since the performance includes works of various periods, the audience will see both classical and modern ballet, as well as hip-hop elements.
The meeting was attended by students from different faculties, tutors and other guests. Rudolf Kharatyan said how this idea has originated, then focused on the decoration of the scene, some episodes. Then there was time for questions and answers.
