TEMPUS IV 3RD CALL
YSU Academic Council hall was overcrowded.

About 50 representatives of Armenian HEI had gathered to get acquainted with the conditions of the contest Reform in Higher Education Through International Cooperation Tempus Project 3rd Call.

The guests were welcomed by Head of the Delegation of the European Union Ambassador in Armenia, Ambassador Raul de Luzenberger, RA Ministry of Education and Science, YSU, National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance Foundation representatives.

The adviser to the RA Minister of Education and Science Alexander Ter-Hovakimyan put a stress on the fact that projects, which are implemented in the framework of Tempus, held Armenian HEI to overcome many obstacles in the process of installation of the new educational system. But he also mentioned there are omissions, too, and the Armenian side does everything to make the cooperation more effective.

Representative of the Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EU Education) Franz Steidele presented the Tempus IV Third Call Proposal. Audience was provided with the opportunity to get acquainted with the main conditions for the participation and requirements in details.

Reports were made in the areas of the priorities of Tempus Project for Armenia, submission of the electronic application form, as well as EU other projects. 

YSU Vice-rector on Educational Activities Alexander Grigoryan, signifying the role of Tempus Projects in the area of he RA higher education system development, offered, from now on, to pay more attention on both accepted and rejected proposals of our HEI.

Only due to our participation 20 projects were delivered to Tempus in 2009. The affairs will be more effective, if we get detailed information on why each of the projects was rejected, points and omissions, - said Mr. Grigoryan.

Manager of National Tempus Office in Georgia Lika Glonti made a report on current reforms in Georgia in the framework of Tempus project. Lika Glonti, who has arrived here with the goal to find partners, signified the cooperation between Georgian and Armenian colleagues in this sphere. She is sure the joint projects are necessary for both sides.
