At the suggestion of the sportsmen, the meeting took place in the question and answer format. The attendees were interested in the success stories of champions, their private lives, their motivation in sports.
One of the students wondered why it is important to have a profession outside of sports.
“Recently, seminars were held in Lausanne to discuss how to combine sports and education. An opinion was voiced that the athlete must understand that it is mandatory to have another profession from the age of 16-17. This helps the athlete to find his place in life after completing professional career in sports,” - said Arsen Julfalakyan, a PhD student at YSU Faculty of International Relations.
According to Arsen Julfalakyan, professional athletes have the same style in all other spheres of sport, and their burden is also caused by the fact that many do not try to enter other spheres.
“Since my school years, my parents have paid great attention to my studies. I cannot imagine myself without reading, science, but at the same time, combining education and sport is a complicated matter,” - said A. Julfalakyan.
One of the students was interested in Arthur Alexanyan’s failure in sports, changes in the attitude of the athletes after the defeat and possible ways of overcoming them.
“If you are a professional athlete, you have to be ready for every difficulty. The best way to avoid them is continuous training,” - said Alexanyan.
Speaking of the athletes’ motivation, Alexanyan said that the most important thing is the reaction of his compatriots: “It motivates me that a whole nation is happy with my victory - I can bring happiness into the life of people for at least a few minutes.”
Maxim Manukyan added that the most important thing for him is to give his patrons a sense of pride and to give a victorious mood.
In the course of the meeting a letter was sent to Arthur Alexanyan, where one of the fans was interested in what qualities his wife should have.
Artur Alexanyan joked, saying that he could talk about the issue for hours, but separated the most important words in his opinion.
“The most important thing is to be smart, loyal and, of course, Armenian,” - Artur Alexanyan underscored.
At the end of the meeting, students took photos with champions.
