This year the festival is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. Owing to the joint efforts of the Cultural Centre and the National Cinema Centre of Armenia, for eight consecutive years, YSU participates in this program.
This year, movies produced in these 25 years of independence, including the co-production films, will be shown.
“Today, there are few halls where new films are shown. The same problem is also on TV. And our Cultural Centre becomes a platform where young people are informed about the progress in the development of the movie industry. Here we show films, which win awards at various international festivals,” – said the Director of YSU Cultural Centre Karine Davtyan.
She added that premieres are expected, as well as meetings with the people who contribute to the development of cinema art, etc.
On the opening day of the festival - October 5, the audience watched the movies “Armenian Sketches” (by Ashot Jazoyan) and “Warm Country, Cold Winter” (by David Safaryan).
The films will be shown every Wednesday at 15:00 pm.
