“JOIN US WITH YOUR IDEAS AND MOTIVATION”: ANAHIT GHAZARYAN
“JOIN US WITH YOUR IDEAS AND MOTIVATION”: ANAHIT GHAZARYAN
From February 28 the Club of the Young Specialists in International Relations is functioning at YSU Faculty of International Relations. We talked to the founding member Anahit Ghazaryan about the goals, activities and future plans of the new student club.

- Anahit, how did you decide to open this club?

- From time to time events were organized at the faculty, with a group of students participating in organizational issues. One day there was an open door day at our faculty, we had guests. With the same group, we presented a presentation and event, which was also attended by dean of our faculty Gegham Petrosyan. After the event, he promised our group that he would always support us. It was then that the idea came to focus on the capabilities of the students who are willing to work outside the classroom, of course, for the sake of their profession. It turns out that the number of such students at our faculty is gradually increasing. I made a program and a proposal to create a club at the faculty council meeting. My application was approved.

- What are the goals of the club?

- The goals of our club are to provide effective leisure for students, increase their political consciousness, improve professional skills through outsourced learning, and create a platform for exchanging professional experiences of different generations.

- What events have you organized and what are you planning to organize in the near future?

- Our first program was to visit Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Sumgait massacres. We laid a wreath at the cross stone of Sumgait victims and also visited the Genocide Museum. Dean of our faculty, about 300 students were present at the event as well as Vahram Kazhoyan, Head of International Organizations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. In the nearest future we plan to organize a scientific conference with the SSS of the faculty dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic.

- Do you cooperate with any organization?

- We only cooperate with the Faculty SSS. In the near future we plan to establish contacts with international scholars of other universities, as well as international structures. I think we will have joint activities.

- What do you need to complete your ranks?

- Now we have 520 registered members. Our club's charter is not ready yet, but every Monday we hold sessions during which we discuss our future plans. Those who fail to appear regularly in the discussions are immediately dismissed. Our ranks are open to smart and talented students and I hope that more students will join us in the future.
