The results of the first term for 2006-2007 academic years were summarized at the Rectorate session of YSU on the 29th of January.
Head of the Educational-methodological department of YSU Hrant Jamharyan pointed out the problems, which had appeared during the examination period, and then presented the statistics. A great number of omissions had been noticed during the final exams, when the results of the mid-term exams were not taken into consideration.
According to the decision made by YSU Academic Council, those students who have 12.5 points and more after the mid-term exams, can get good mark and not satisfactory. In case when the points are less then 12.5, the student can not expect an excellent mark during the final exam.
According to the above mentioned system of estimation of the final exams 44 violations of order were recorded, the greatest part of which had been noticed at the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology. The violations were corrected immediately, and the students informed of the changes of their marks, - said Hrant Jamharyan.
As an omission were also observed the examination sheets which had not been completely filled before taking them to the Deans Office together with the cases when the students having not participated during the mid-term exams or who had got unsatisfactory marks had been let to participate in the examination period and got marks.
In the end Hrant Jamharyan offered to present on exception those students who had not handed over 3 exams and 2-4 tests after the examination period. Today 303 Bachelor students are in this situation. YSU authorities will also take into consideration the absences for the valid reasons and the exceptional situations, so the total amount of these students is not affirmed yet.
The students of the Magistracy will be presented on exception from now on in case they have not handed over 2 examinations and 1-4 tests.
