THE STAGE OF REAL COLLABORATION
THE STAGE OF REAL COLLABORATION
On the 9th of March students from the School of Social Work of the Connecticut University of USA were the guests of YSU Vice-rector on Educational Affairs Alexander Grigoryan.

The students have arrived in Armenia in the framework of joint educational project between the universities. Students from the USA had participated in the joint on-line courses together with their colleagues from the Faculty of Sociology of YSU in September. Six students from the participants have obtained the opportunity to undertake their practice in Armenia.

There was a time when only the students of our University used to go abroad. I am glad that now is the period of a serious collaboration and our country has an opportunity to provide foreign students with practical knowledge,- said Vice-rector Alexander Grigoryan during the meeting.

The collaboration between our universities began still in 1993 when the Dean of the School of Social Work of the Connecticut University Nancy Hanfry arrived in Armenia. The on-line courses on Social Work are already three years old and each year 4-6 American students make researches in the area of online discussions in Armenia.

I am very impressed. Despite the fact that our visit was too short we managed to learn something about the history and art of your country. I guess that in future, as You have already mentioned, our collaboration will develop,- said Maria Hernandez, a student from the Connecticut University.

During their visit which was foreseen for just 5 days our guests managed to learn about the services foreseen for children, invalid people, pregnant women and protection of old-aged people in Armenia. They were also involved in the activities of the journal Armenian Women.
