AN EVENT DEDICATED TO YEGHISHE CHARENTS
The event “National Library Week” this year was dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Yeghishe Charents.

The organizer of this event, held for the 15th time already, is the SSS of the Faculty of Armenia Philology.

 

“It is no coincidence that the first event organized in the framework of the “National Library Week” is dedicated to this poet. He is one of the greatest geniuses of our nation, and this event is a good opportunity to honor him once again,” - said the representative of the National Library of Armenia Narine Gevorgyan.

 

Collections of works published in different times, the literary works dedicated to him, as well as his best poems were exhibited in the library.

 

Writer, literary critic, poet, Davit Gasparyan spoke about some episodes of poet’s life, as well as his unpublished works, which were included in “The Book of Chronicles.” It was published in only 500 copies, intended for narrow professional circles.

 

“Charents is our most vibrant author who is constantly studied and we should really pay more attention to this exceptional poet,” – said the critic.

 

According to the head of the General Department of the National Library of Armenia Anahit Keheyan, the purpose of such events is to support the formation of the intellectual society.

 

In the end of the event best poems of the author were recited by the participants.
