FRESHMEN TOOK AN OATH
FRESHMEN TOOK AN OATH
On September 15, the annual Freshmen Oath and YSU Honoring Ceremony was held at YSU. This year it was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the independence of Armenia.

The event was marked by the rise of flags of Armenia and YSU and singing anthems. The April four-day war heroes and the gold and silver medalists at the 23rd Mathematical International Student Olympiad raised the flag of YSU.

The event was attended by YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, vice-rectors, deans of the faculties, heads of different divisions, representatives of student organizations and many others.

This traditional event is organized by YSU administration and supported by YSU Cultural Centre. Members of the Cultural Centre performed folk and patriotic dances and songs. This is a very important event especially for those, who have just entered this higher education institution.

YSU Rector Aram Simonyan read his congratulatory message: “This is also YSU honoring day and September is the month of knowledge and education. I congratulate you and wish you all success.”

YSU Rector awarded letters of gratitude of the RA Ministry of Defense those students, who had participated in the April four-day war.

“This ceremony is an event, where first year students take an oath to study well and be worthy of being YSU student. I should note that 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of our Cultural Centre,” – said the Director of YSU Cultural Centre Karine Davtyan.

The ceremony was conducted by Garnik Arakelyan (Faculty of International Relations) and Galina Karapetyan (Faculty of Geography and Geology).

And everybody is sure that this kind and beautiful tradition will go on.
