YSU Rector Aram Simonyan congratulated the distinguished scholar, wished him good health and long life: “This eminent personality has been working for 47 years at YSU. He is the author of six dozen scientific publications, textbooks, manuals, etc. Being member of the Academic Council of this faculty and YSU Board of Trustees for many years, Mr. Hajyan has had great contribution to the development of the University. He puts a stress on the constant work with young and promising personnel.”
Mr. Simonyan spoke about the professor’s preferences and noted that few people know about conquering the peak of Mount Ararat: “He is honest and moderate man. He is a patriot and a man who cannot imagine his life without his beloved university and work.”
The newly appointed dean of this faculty Vladimir Nerkararyan said: “He is the one who is extremely sensitive to the decline of the youth educational level.”
Colleagues also read congratulatory messages. Vice-rector on Educational Affairs Alexander Grigoryan, remembering their student years, said that Mr. Hajyan still remains a person with great energy, whose work has always been and remains in the focus of the university administration.
Mr. Hajyan thanked everyone for the congratulations: “On June of 1965, when I was submitting documents for the admission to the university, I was looking at the main building, walked around the yard and dreamt to be one of the students in that building. I am too happy my life is connected with the university.”
