YSU IS WINNER AGAIN
YSU IS WINNER AGAIN
University students showed excellent results in All-Armenian Competition of Programmers last week.

The organizer of this competition (age limitation is 30) (IOPS-2008) was the foundation Incubator of Enterprises. This was the fifth contest.

In the beginning individual round was held, from which 30 best participants were divided into teams for the team round. University squad was the same one: Martun Karapetyan (Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, 1st year), Karapet Kostandyan (Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, 2nd year), Armen Mnatsakanyan (Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, 3rd year).

From 8 problems at the competition, lasting 4 hours, all 8 were solved only by YSU team and we are the first again. To the participants, who had won in the individual competition, prizes were handed over: 100 thousand drams (3rd place), 200 thousand drams (2nd place) and 300 thousand drams (1st place). And the winner team of team round earned 450 thousand drams, runner-up 300 thousand drams, 3rd place holder 150 thousand drams.

We will note also that in the International Olympiad which was held in the end of November in Batumi, no Armenian team overcame the semi-final round. Three teams were presented in Batumi by YSU and RAU. One command was given also by the State engineering university of Armenia. From the 11 problems YSU second team had solved only 5. Only the team of Georgia had progressed into finals.

We face the experience lack and at the same time we can not work in a high temp. I think we will prepare better for the coming Olympiad next year, - YSU team member Karapet Kostandyan said.
