In addition to the Armenian specialists, political and public figures and analysts from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Artsakh also participated in the international round table discussion, organized by the initiative of the Armenian branch of the CIS Institute.
MP of the National Assembly of the RA Mihran Hakobyan, researcher of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Areshev, chairman of “Integration and Development” NGO Aram Safaryan, Head of Economic Department of the CIS Institute Professor Aza Mihranyan, as well as a number of lecturers and experts from analytical centers and YSU Faculty of International Relations made speeches.
Head of International Cooperation Office of YSU Alexander Markarov welcomed the participants of the roundtable and noted that the Armenian branch of the CIS Institute has allocated scholarships for three students of Yerevan State University, who have participated in the April War of 2016: Eric Tserunyan (Faculty of Law, 3rd year), Sos Movsisyan (Pharmacy Institute, 2nd year) and Koryun Simonyan (Faculty of Journalism, 3rd year).
Mihran Hakobyan, NA MP, delivered a welcoming speech after the awarding ceremony, highlighting the importance of organizing similar platforms for the discussion of regional issues.
Then Andrei Areshev made a report on the possibilities and challenges of involvement of Armenia in the Eurasian and European integration projects.
Aram Safaryan spoke about new realities of regional integration processes, drawing parallels with the political and social processes in other countries.
Aza Mihranyan presented the effectiveness of Eurasian integration and its perspectives in modern conditions, analyzed the overall economic situation of the countries in the region, comparing security, financial, trade and a number of other spheres.
