REFUGEES AS A PLAYING CARD IN THE PROCESS OF CONFLICT RESOLUTION
REFUGEES AS A PLAYING CARD IN THE PROCESS OF CONFLICT RESOLUTION
A research related to the problems of internally displaced people was presented at “CRRC-Armenia” Foundation.

The speaker was PhD student Peter Pal Krantsin from Pazmany Peter Catholic University.

The study was called “Speculating the refugee playing card: refugees and internally displaced persons in the South Caucasus as a major factor in conflict resolution”.

The speaker was introduced by “CRRC-Armenia” project manager Diana Hovakimyan, who noted that the study is very vital for the entire region.

Peter Pal Krantsin’s study was quite comprehensive, as it contains historical facts, statistics, political analysis and international standpoints.

“The presence of refugees and internally displaced persons is already a provocative element, since the states which have frozen conflicts use this issue as a playing card in the process of dialogue,” - said the researcher.

The speaker had also referred to the legal issues regulating this problem that exist in the post-Soviet countries.

The participants asked a series of questions to the speaker, making focus on the data and analyzes, as well as the existing shortcomings.
