A student conference, headed Nature Protection and Nature Exploitation Issues in Armenia, with the participation of our future geographers, geologists, their colleagues from the faculties of Chemistry and Biology, started today in YSU.
24 reports, selected for this conference, focus on different aspects of this problem: Tourism and stable development in Armenia, Environmental meaning of photochemical processes, Noise monitoring in YSU, The prospective of mushrooms ecosystem preservation, which grow in Teghut forests, etc.
We have tried to choose a theme to involve students from several faculties in this conference. That is why we focused on environmental and nature exploitation issues. We think the topic is a too urgent one, as environmental issues are considered to be very important in last decade. So, Armenia must be involved in the process. The students opinions and approaches are of great importance for us. I think we will make some conclusions in the end, - said YSU SSS Chairman Karlen Khachatryan.
PHD student from the Chair of Social-economic Geography Tigran Sargsyan had made the accent on tourism development in Armenia in his report. He had analyzed the existing problems and obstacles and suggested his own variants to overcome them. He states ethno tourism can be developed in our country, as we have got traditions, coming from the depth of ages, especially in our regions, or for instance, we can develop wine tourism in Areni, taking into consideration the cheese tourism in Switzerland.
Students, who attend such workshops, have got bright future. I would like to develop these activities to have an opportunity to test our skills with the help of serious specialists some years later, - said Dean of YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology Marat Grigoryan in his opening speech.
Some of the reports, selected by chairs, will be published after the conference. The organizing staff is sure the corresponding institutions and structures will get acquainted with these issues via it.
