YSU Legal Clinic was founded in 1999. It is a structural unit of the Faculty of Law, which aims to provide free legal support to our citizens.
Director of the clinic, Candidate of Law Knarik Vardanyan, welcoming and congratulating the students, said: “This year has been quite tangible. We had about 115 cases, 55 of which are now completed, and the rest are pending.” In the frames of the project “Right for All” students visited four schools in Yerevan and Oshakan. They have also carried out various projects with several international organizations and NGOs.
Knarik Vardanyan noted that in order to develop the course “Healthcare Law” the clinic has cooperated with the “Law Development Center” NGO. The clinic has also cooperated with the UN Office on the Affairs with Refugees.
Congratulatory speech was made by the Dean of the Faculty of Law Gagik Ghazinyan. He spoke about the importance of this unit and praised the work of the legal clinic.
“The clinic definitely serves to its original purpose, but there is still much to do,” - said Gagik Ghazinyan and presented all the projects that are planned for the next academic year.
Advocate from the RA Chamber of Advocates Hayk Aloyan, instructor-coordinator of the clinic also congratulated students.
30 graduates received certificates and the most active four students Arman Ghukasyan, Hovhannes Harutyunyan, Luiza Meliksetyan and Arpine Arakelyan also received YSU letters of gratitude.
