MEETING WITH SCHOOLCHILDREN OF VANADZOR
On February 2, YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies representatives met with the pupils of Vanadzor high schools.

The meeting organized by the YSU Pre-University Education Department was held in Vanadzor secondary school after Gevorg Chavush. The goal was to provide children with information about higher education and the opportunities.


YSU was represented by Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Candidate of Philology Ruben Melkonyan, Head of the Chair of Arabic Studies, Candidate of History Hayk Kocharyan, Head of the Chair of Iranian Studies, Candidate of Philology Vardan Voskanyan, Assistant at the Chair of Turkic Studies, Candidate of History Mher Abrahamyan and Chairman of the Student Council of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Aren Petunts.


Future applicants asked the lecturers questions on educational programs and specializations available at YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies.


At the end of the meeting, Archbishop Sepuh Chuljyan, Primate of the Gugarats Diocese, called on the schoolchildren to learn well, to master different languages, especially to the languages of the enemy countries.


The Bishop encouraged the teenagers and the girls to think about all they can do for the homeland and specialize in various directions.

ARTSRUN AVAGYAN WAS REELECTED AS A DEAN OF YSU FACULTY OF ARMENIAN PHILOLOGY
Doctor of Philology, Professor Artsrun Avagyan has been re-elected Dean of the Faculty of Armenian Philology via a closed, secret ballot at the session of the Academic Council of YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology today, with 32 votes in favor and 3 invalid votes.
