The annual international conference was organized by YSU Faculty of Sociology and aims to find answers to contemporary sociological issues.
Dean of the faculty Arthur Mkrtichyan welcomed the guests and participants during the opening ceremony of the conference and expressed hope that the conference on important issues will be productive: “I want effective cooperation and I hope the final result will satisfy us all.”
Head of the Chair of Applied Sociology at YSU Faculty of Sociology, chief organizer of the conference Artur Atanesyan also welcomed and wished success to the participants of the conference and mentioned that the conference will be held in 4 sections: “Today, the work will continue in “Migration and Intercultural Communication” and “Modern Migration Processes and Migration Policy Issues” and on the second day of the conference “Migration, Identity and Harmony” and “Migration, Regional Policy and Security” sections.
In an interview with us Arthur Atanesyan said: “Migration today is very relevant both for Armenia and Europe, and as a result of these migration processes identity is one of the main problems of sociology and multiculturalism (coexistence of representatives of different cultures, collision, etc.).”
Arthur Atanesyan also added that the representatives of partner universities mainly participate in the conference: “Representatives of more than ten HEIs from Russia, participants from Germany, Georgia and, of course, from Armenia, most of them are YSU Faculty of Sociology specialists, officers-analysts of the RA Presidential Administration, NSS expert and RA Defense Ministry representative make reports and presentations.”
Reports presented during the conference will be published in scientific magazines approved by the RA HAC.
