International Center of Russian Culture “Harmony” and “Arno Babajanyan” Foundation organized the competition-festival “Russian military songs”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in Great Patriotic War. The final gala concert was held in “Arno Babajanyan” Concert Hall on May 9.
Performers from YSU were Arevik Prazyan, Marianna Varosyan, Maritza Telikyan, Tatev Telikyan, Lilit Petrosyan and Gayane Gevorkyan.
The organizing committee of the festival was composed of the Chairman of the Musical Society of Armenia, Honored Figure of Culture, Dean of the Vocal and Theory Faculty of Yerevan State Conservatory, Professor David Ghazaryan, composer Martin Vardazaryan, Artistic Director of the Symphonic Orchestra of the Armenian Public Radio, composer Yervand Yerznkyan, RA People’s Artist Raisa Mkrtchyan, composer Melik Mavisakalyan and Chairman of the International Center of Russian Culture “Harmony” Aida Harutyunyan.
The participants were from various universities, art and music schools, music colleges of Yerevan, Armenian provinces, Artsakh and Javakhk. In general, there were 65 participants. This annual competition, which is held with Russia’s financial support, takes place once in two years. Generally, there are Armenian and Russian songs.
Arevik Prazyan, Marianna Varosyan and Maritza Telikyan took part in the gala concert and received diplomas. Director of YSU Cultural Centre Karine Davtyan received a certificate in the category “Best Cooperation.”
