NAREK DURYAN WAS RECEIVED AT YSU
One more lecture was delivered in the hall of the YSU Cultural Centre, organized within the framework of the "Cultural Education" program. This time the guest was the Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia Narek Duryan.

During the lecture headed "Theater Today" Mr. Duryan focused on special episodes of his theatrical life, spoke of the educational level of the actors, opportunities, challenges they face, difficulties and so on.

Mr. Duryan answered students’ questions in his usual theatrical style, charm and humorous accents. He raised questions that leave a bad impact on our society. Mr. Duryan was sincere and said he cannot accept the Internet reality and the social networks limit the possibilities of acquiring knowledge, that is why the books are not so popular now.

As for the changes taking place in theatrical life and professional priorities the honored actor said that the profession of the actor is an amazing one. According to him, it is possible not to have a higher education, but be a good actor.

Mr. Duryan, responding to a question on the current state of the theater, said that it is in very bad conditions. Television entertainment, comedy programs offer humor, which is just a disgrace. He is sure the audiences are different, so it has always been, but the current image is not subject to interpretation.

He also spoke about the state support. Theater "Bohem" does not receive it today. Mr. Duryan explained that is why they are expensive tickets for theater performances, although serious money is spent on each presentation.

In the end Mr. Duryan invited participants to one of his performances, which defines reality and illusion. It enables a new way of recognizing him, this time as a lecturer.
