In September, Artin Akyuz arranged an agreement with the Dean of the Faculty of Sociology Arthur Mkrtichyan and Artak Khachatryan, Head of the Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies to conduct professional trainings at the faculty. From the beginning of the second half of the 2017-2018 academic year, he conducts courses for the Social Work and Social Technologies Chair for both Bachelor's and Master's students on "Psychosocial Care for Patients with Mental Illness" and "German Social Protection System (based on Frankfurt City)".
Our compatriot, who has a rich experience in psychiatric care, believes that YSU students will not only learn the European methods and ideas of social work, but will also be introduced to the German social security system by the example of Frankfurt. According to Artin Akyuz, the courses will also provide students with an opportunity to compare the Armenian and German social security systems and make some generalizations.
It should also be mentioned that our guest is a well-known public figure in the Armenian community of Germany, who, in time, joined a number of Armenian organizations, supported earthquake-affected citizens and the Armenians of Artsakh. In the end of 1990s, Artin Akyuz supported a group of lecturers from YSU Faculty of Sociology occupied in the field of social work program that was held in Frankfurt.
