The Chinese delegation was composed of the Vice-rector of Nankai University, Professor Zhu Guangley, Professor of the College of Foreign Languages of this university Ian Guadong , Director of Alumni Division Zeng Lijian, as well as Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Armenia Tian Erlong.
The meeting with the Chinese partners was attended by YSU Vice-rectors Aleksandr Grigoryan, Gegham Gevorgyan, Head of the International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov, Director of the Institute of Pharmacy Ashot Saghyan and Director of YSU Chinese Language and Culture Centre, Associate Professor at the Faculty of International Relations Arthur Israelyan.
Aram Simonyan welcomed the guests and spoke about the history of the university, educational processes and new developments.
“We are open for any cooperation. Interest of our students towards Chinese language and culture is quite large. I am sure the establishment and development of mutual relations between the universities will be effective,” – said YSU Rector.
Vice-rector of Nankai University, Professor Zhu Guangley presented their HEI, faculties, the most developed areas, as well as international cooperation with foreign universities.
“Although Nankai University is not the largest Chinese university, it is one of the best and has a rich history. It is symbolic that our university will also soon celebrate its 100th anniversary of foundation. I think it is a good opportunity to engage in cooperation and become good partners,” - the professor said.
The parties reached a preliminary agreement to sign a memorandum of cooperation and make a focus on three directions - Pharmacy, Political Science and Management, Human Rights.
After exchanging souvenirs the Chinese delegation visited the Chinese Language and Culture Centre and the Institute of Pharmacy.
