The topic of the meeting was “To promote opportunities for career development: global labor market.” The event was organized by YSU Alumni and Career Centre in cooperation with “G-R-C” Knowledge Center. This was unique summarization of the courses “Governance, risk control”.
YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan welcomed the guests and wished them a fruitful and interesting discussion: “I also want to thank all the organizers and the speakers not only for the organization of such an important training, but also for the consistency.”
Professor of Armenian origin had already delivered several online lectures for students and assigned tasks that were summarized during today’s meeting.
Emma Arakelyan presented the factors that contribute to career development, access to labor market opportunities as well as spoke about the challenges of global labor market, focusing on the required skills and capabilities to confront them.
According to the professor, the most important precondition is to have at disposal a good resume, which should be made still at school: “We should be able to withstand all challenges, having several advantages. A certificate or volunteer work, which will be listed in your resume, will give you some advantage and provide with more favorable opportunities to solve the problems in the field of employment.”
Emma Arakelyan assured that theoretical knowledge should be applied on practice and recommended not to avoid free internship opportunities: “There are many international companies, where the internship will help you to understand the nuances and you will be more prepared to face the challenges of the global labor market.”
During the meeting, the speaker answered students’ questions.
