YSU GOLD MEDAL FOR GOURGEN MELIKYAN
"The respect which we can see towards Gourgen Melikyan, can be only towards real individualities",- these words were expressed by YSU Rector, Professor Aram Simonyan.

On the 12th of January Aram Simonyan awarded the dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Gourgen Melikyan with a gold medal on the occasion of his 70th anniversary during the Board session which was dedicated to this event.

A good friend and a great patriot, - in this way represented this personality Babken Haroutunyan, Head of Chair of the History of Armenia of the Faculty of History.

Deans of different faculties, heads of different chairs, his friends and relatives, students with former among them congratulated Gourgen Melikyan in this wonderful atmosphere with their speeches and presents full of surprises.

Let Gourgens dream come true and that time we will dance kochary on the slopes of Ararat on his 100th anniversary,- said Seda Gasparyan, Head of Chair of English Philology of the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology.

I am very grateful to You, my University, for I am in your embrace for 48 years,- with such words Gourgen Melikyan expressed his gratefulness.

YSU RECTOR MET THE CHAIRMAN OF THE EURASIAN ECONOMIC COMMISSION COUNCIL DELEGATION HEADED BY M. V. MYASNIKOVICH
YSU rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, along with Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of RA Karen Trchunyan, hosted the delegation headed by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission. For his activity and significant contribution to increasing inter-university bonds, the rector handed a certificate of gratitude to Myasnikovich.
THE THREAT OF DESTRUCTION OF ARMENIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH
From 15 to 19 July 2022, a conference on "The Cultural Heritage of Artsakh" was held at the Yerevan State University and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Vayots Dzor/Armenia. More than 30 international scholars and experts discussed the origin, historical development and current threats to cultural heritage in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). These are part of the Armenian culture and, thus, amongst the oldest heritage of Christianity.
