During the meeting, organized by YSU Centre for Student Affairs, participants touched upon the talented writer’s works with a focus on his poems.
The event was attended by the President of the Writers’ Union of Armenia Edward Militonyan, writer and public figure Zori Balayan, as well as their colleagues, who highly appreciated the contribution of Vardan Hakobyan to the literary life.
“Today our literature has entered a new stage of development,” – said Edward Militonyan and noted that education and culture is a tool for the survival of small states.”
Zori Balayan highly appreciated Vardan Hakobyan not only as a poet but also patriot: “He was one of the most prominent figures in the Artsakh liberation movement. When the population of Stepanakert lived in basements, he wrote a play called “Basement”. It describes the life of Stepanakert basements.”
In the end of the meeting Vardan Hakobyan thanked the audience for the appreciation of his works, for the words addressed to him: “I saw your respect, I consider it my duty to do my best to become better.”
