Vice-rector on Academic Affairs Alexander Grigoryan and Vice-Rector for Scientific Policy and International Cooperation Gegham Gevorgyan received today the delegation headed by Deputy Head of the Secretariat of Scholarship Commission of the People’s Republic of China Van Shengan.
The main purpose of the visit is to expand the scope of cooperation between Armenia and China in the field of education, to discuss issues related to the scholarships provided by the PRC Government and experience exchange, as well as to meet with students from different higher educational institutions of the RA, who have received education in China.
For this purpose, Chinese delegation had a meeting with about 10 students from different universities of China at YSU Center for European Studies.
Then, during the discussion with YSU administration, Van Shengan noted that he also had a meeting with Chinese students studying in Armenia who are quite satisfied with all here.
“For us, besides the educational level, the security of our citizens is also very important. Chinese students have a positive attitude not only towards the Armenian educational system, but also people,” - said the guest.
YSU vice-rectors presented Chinese colleagues the history of the university, educational process, the international cooperation and the main directions of development.
“The accommodation conditions are very important for foreign students, so now works are underway to build a YSU dormitory,” - said Alexander Grigoryan and added that YSU has serious research cooperation with a number of leading universities, including Chinese educational institutions, so there are all the prerequisites to expand cooperation.
