“The first tournament organized in Armenia is the beginning of the work that will continue for a long time,” - said Suren Stepanyan, trainer of the Aparazh Club.
The championship took place in two rounds. 83 participants (40 boys and 43 girls) had applied for participation, the specialist from the International Federation of Rock climbing, Mehdi Zendehkar, has built a path for girls and boys alike. Then, in the order determined by draw, the participants climbed the set path.
11 boys and 8 girls passed to the final stage, for which a new track was built. At this stage, the sequence was already determined based on the results of the previous round.
Symbolic souvenirs were given to the Armenian Federation of Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism, Gurgen Melikyan, YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies Professor, Rudik Barseghyan, Head of YSU Physical Education and Sports Department, and Aghvan Chatinyan, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports, as well as Mehdi Zendehkar.
