The meeting was attended by YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, Vice-rector on Scientific Policy and International Cooperation Gegham Gevorgyan, Head of International Cooperation Office Alexander Markarov and Deputy Director of the Institute for Armenian Studies Mher Hovhannisyan.
Aram Simonyan presented the history of YSU, development trends and research directions. Then members of the delegation, who have Armenian roots, spoke about the activities of the Chair of Armenian Studies at Rosario National University and further plans.
“Our main goal is to sign a framework agreement with YSU. The document will provide a possibility for multilateral cooperation with signing of additional protocols or programs,” - representative of Rosario National University Delfina Demirjyan said.
Coordinator of the Chair of Armenian Studies, film director Florencia Demirjian also spoke about the main directions of the activities of the chair, as well as the mission of the Armenian-Argentinean museum operating at their university.
“Armenia is represented in the museum until the years of modern Turkey’s formation. So we look forward to assisting our students and visitors in presenting historical materials or organizing lectures,” - said Florencia Demirjyan.
Aram Simonyan expressed readiness to provide Argentinean Armenian partners with rich information, books, DVDs and online literature.
After the signing of the agreement and exchange of souvenirs, the members of the delegation visited the Institute for Armenian Studies.
The delegation of Rosario National University has visited Armenia to participate in the 6th Armenia-Diaspora Forum.
