Today in the Hall of Yerevan State University Faculty of History an event was held on the occasion of birthday of our national hero of Armenia, the perished student of the Faculty of History, soldier Tatul Krpeyan. The event was organized by the SSS of the Faculty of History and Military-patriotic Club Vardanank.
The meeting began with prayers by Dean of YSU Faculty of Theology Bishop Anoushavan Zhamkochyan. Then the participants were greeted and the relatives, family members, lecturers and friends of Tatul Krpeyan shared their memories with each other. Each of them presented Tatul as a soldier, student, friend and a cheerful person.
I find it difficult to talk about Tatul without strife. He went to war with two missions: to learn and to defend the homeland at any cost. During the daytime he used to hold academic works, and in the evenings the battlefield protection program was being developed by him. He said that he would not return to Armenia, if he appeared in Getashen. And so it happened. At the time of the hot battle Tatul again found the way out: he took prisoner the commander of Russian army Mashkov and with a grenade in the hands forced the enemy to stop the attack. Finally the enemy regiment proved to be fatal to him and his friends. But that heroic and self-sacrificing act forced the enemy to make conclusions, and as a result, despite the fact that Getashen passed into the hands of the enemy, thousands of Getashen residents were saved. He was only 26, - said Tatuls lecturer Artavazd Darbinyan.
Tatuls daughter Aspram was also present in the hall. Now she is a 3rd year student of YSU Faculty of Law. I want to ask my peers to kept the memory of each of our heroes alive forever, because the future generation will be brought up on their examples, because the lessons of the past will build our future, - noticed Aspram Krpeyan.
Journalist Gohar Martikyan, author of the cycle Formula of life, handed Aspram the volume which is dedicated to the hero Tatul. I am sure that in todays youth, if not in all, in every second, Tatuls and Montes live, who at the right time will give their lives for the welfare of the motherland, - said Gohar Martikyan.
A member of Department of Cultural Genocide of YSU Armenological Center Kathy Gundakchyan said: Tatul loved to sing and dance. When I saw him last time, walking down the street with a friend of his, he was dancing Kochari, lifting his hands up.
After the speeches the ensemble Akunk performed several patriotic songs and in the end a film about the life of Tatul Krpeyan was shown.
