YSU HOSTED THE AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
YSU HOSTED THE AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopirkin and discussed with him the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation.

Alexander Margarov, Head of the YSU Department of International Cooperation, and Pavel Balayan, Dean of the Faculty of Russian Philology, were present at the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia.

 


Welcoming the Ambassador, Hovhannisyan noted that YSU closely cooperates with various Russian universities, institutes and research centers.

He said that the development of Russian studies is of great importance at YSU, as evidenced by the Faculty of Russian Philology at the University, the Russian Center, the newly established Center for Russian Studies, and various events organized.

THE THREAT OF DESTRUCTION OF ARMENIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH
From 15 to 19 July 2022, a conference on "The Cultural Heritage of Artsakh" was held at the Yerevan State University and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Vayots Dzor/Armenia. More than 30 international scholars and experts discussed the origin, historical development and current threats to cultural heritage in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). These are part of the Armenian culture and, thus, amongst the oldest heritage of Christianity.
