YSU STUDENT COUNCIL WILL APPLY NEW MECHANISMS TO RAISE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF WORK
The session of YSU Student Council Presidium was held today. The agenda included 9 major and current issues.

In the end of the last semester, on December 27 during the session of the Presidium of YSU Student Council, organized at the initiative of the Electoral Commission of YSU Student Council, via secret ballot and the majority of votes 2nd year master student at the Faculty of Sociology Armen Khachikyan was elected the Chairman of YSU Student Council.

Today, session of the newly formed Presidium of the Student Council was held, which was attended by YSU Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan.


Ruben Markosyan welcomed the participants and expressed confidence that the newly elected Student Council will carry out its tasks with honor and will operate even more efficiently: “The Student Council should be a platform where students will present problems and find the relevant solutions.”


Mr. Markosyan also noted that he fondly remembers his participation in the affairs of Student Council in his student years. He said he is always ready to support the development of this institution and advised students to work with great dedication. Ruben Markosyan also spoke about the existing problems and possible solutions.


The members of the Presidium discussed the problems that occur during the examination period, as well as a number of other organizational problems.


The issues, related to the formation of the Debate Club at the Commission on the Scientific-educational Commission and the activities of the Public Relations of the Student Council were also discussed.

To make the activities more effective it was decided to form a Commission for Monitoring and Development. It will be headed by Khachik Abajyan, representing the Faculty of International Relations. A Research Group was also formed, which will be headed by Simon Mosikyan from the Faculty of Sociology.
