On May 30, Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall hosted the final event of the Student Song Competition “Student Philharmonie”, which was attended by Vice-rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations Ruben Markosyan, various university rectors, vice-rectors, artists, students and others.
“Youth Philharmonie” was attended by about 150 participants from 15 state and private universities and colleges. The jury was composed of the RA honored culture and folk artists. Komitas songs were included in the program of the competition, too.
The competition was held in 3 genres - classic song, Armenian folk song and Armenian pop song. First and second stages of the competition were held at the Armenian-Russian (Slavonic) University and Yerevan State University. YSU Cultural Centre had largely supported organization of this event at YSU.
Director of YSU Cultural Centre Karine Davtyan noted that 15 students from different faculties had participated in the first round and 7 progressed into the second stage. Mrs. Davtyan appreciates the participation of students, as it was a serious competition. She is sure that students’ performances surprised the jury, which is evidenced by three victories.
Two members of YSU Cultural Centre represent the faculties of Law and Romance and Germanic Philology, who have won in the categories Armenian classic song and Armenian folk song.
Other participants received diplomas, and winners also received cash prizes.
