The tradition of students’ surveys was restored in YSU in 2002. The head of YSU Educational and methodological Department Hrant Zhamharyan informed that previously, in the 1970s-1990s there were surveys called “Tutors with students’ eyes” which were held occasionally.
The procedure of surveys is developed with the course of time making them corresponding to modern technologies. Today students can participate in the surveys via their smartphones.
The surveys are really important. The create the feedback and it becomes possible to see how the effectiveness, pedagogical skills of teachers. Students can highlight their problems and offer solutions promoting this way the development of the higher educational institution.
The results are discussed at the meetings of the academic councils of chairs, faculties and YSU Academic Council. The problem of these surveys is students’ indifference, low level of participation.
Hrant Zhamharyan urges the students to participate more actively.
YSU students can take part in the surveys till February 25.
