The program started with a course on “The History of the Emergence of Nature”, which was followed by practical training. Students received new knowledge on the environment, as well as acquired practical skills.
The next morning, they took part in bird watching and learned to distinguish bird species, learnt of the species registered in the Red Book of Armenia and biodiversity. At the end of the day, via simulation game, students presented solutions for global and local environmental issues.
“During the program, students had the opportunity to become better acquainted with Armenian nature, biodiversity and environmental activities, - said the Chairman of the Environmental Club Eduard Galstyan and added, - taking into account the interest and enthusiasm, we can be confident that the program will provide a solid basis for future activities.”
Director of YSU Centre for Students Affairs Vahagn Varagyan also highlighted the promotion of such events: “Every citizen should have a minimum knowledge about environmental issues.”
Despite a busy schedule and working environment, in the evening environmental camp was in its real mood - fire, folk songs and dances, accompanied by games.
On the last day, the participants had a heated debate, expressing environmental and economic standpoints. Then students collected all used plastic containers, which as plants containers, will be used in their “Green Corner” plan.
