STUDENTS WATCHED A NEW PERFORMANCE
On May 16, the day of 96th anniversary of YSU foundation, our students watched the performance “Paris Sentence” at Yerevan Drama Theater.

The performance was directed by Armen Khandikyan, based on the play, written by Perch Zeytuntsyan and was dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

 

We should note that at the initiative of YSU Cultural Centre university students regularly participate in various film premieres and performances.

 

The performance is based on the book “The Trial of Paris”, authored by the writer and publicist Grigor Janikyan. It tells us about the trial of four young Armenians in 1981 in Paris. This was an unprecedented process which once again reminded the world about the 1915 tragic events. The advocate’s speech during the trial was a challenge to modern Turkey’s policy of denial.

THE THREAT OF DESTRUCTION OF ARMENIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH
From 15 to 19 July 2022, a conference on "The Cultural Heritage of Artsakh" was held at the Yerevan State University and the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Vayots Dzor/Armenia. More than 30 international scholars and experts discussed the origin, historical development and current threats to cultural heritage in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). These are part of the Armenian culture and, thus, amongst the oldest heritage of Christianity.
