THE ANNUAL SUMMER SCHOOL WILL BE FOLLOWED BY PILGRIMAGE
On June 24, the opening ceremony of the “Summer School – 2017” of YSU Military-patriotic Club “Vardanank” was held at Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Navy of the RA Defense Ministry.

This year it is titled “The Region and We”. Vardanank Club has been implementing this project for many years. After completing the exams and the academic year, the club members always actively get involved in the works of this school. Famous intellectuals, military figures, prominent specialists discuss various contemporary issues with the university students.

General-Major, Artsakh hero Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos), President of Vardanank Club of Yerevan State University Satenik Abrahamyan, Vice-President of the Club Ruzanna Krpeyan and others were present at the opening ceremony.

“Opening of the Summer School has been preceded by a series of events. In the nearest future within the framework of “Summer School” interesting meetings are planned, and, of course, the Artsakh pilgrimage, which has already become a tradition,” - said Vardanank Club President Satenik Abrahamyan in her welcoming speech.

On June 24, the first meeting was held with the physician Gevorg Grigoryan, participant of the Artsakh Liberation War. The latter also carried out his professional duty during the Artsakh War. During the meeting Gevorg Grigoryan told about his rescue efforts in the Spitak detachment, as well as about the period of Artsakh war, the months he spent in the hospital, and Tatul Krpeyan’s death. At the end of the meeting the attendees addressed him questions they were concerned about.

It should be noted that the second meeting of “Summer School 2017” took place on June 25. The lecturer was Armen Sargsyan, Associate professor at the Chair of History of Philosophy at YSU Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology. He presented Garegin Nzhdeh’s ideology with interesting details and arguments.

An essay competition was announced within the framework of “Summer School -2017”. The authors of the best works will be awarded and will receive encouraging prizes.
